Unidentified people always have a sense of tragedy to them, but an unidentified child seems to triple that sense. And by “child” I don’t refer to the orphan/runaway teenager no one misses when they’re found dead in a field. I mean that child under 12 who is almost always a victim of their parents or caretakers.
Unidentified children aren’t very common; there are only 410 unidentified people on Namus who are listed as being a pre-adolescent or an infant. And one of those is a toddler found dead in Georgia on December 21, 1988.
